This feature as it is is one of my major sources of annoyance on the internet. Simply browsing random websites and they regularly and repeatedly ask for the permission to send you push notifications. No, I don't want push notifications from your random website.

Notification spam in general is one of the worst cancers of the era we live in, every app developer thinks their app is so important that everyone must want to know about everything that happens on it. Every chat app thinks that every message in any context is worth an immediate notification by default. No, it really isn't.

There should be some standardization that blocks websites from asking if you want push notifications until X amount of time spent on their domain or on the specific time, and without clear user interaction required for it, e.g. a <button type="subscribe-for-push-notifications"> that can be styled by user agents to make it clear it's going to cause spam for you.

Yes! I really hate that message. I visit like 10 pages per minute and it's really annoying. Also nothing on a website is so important to need notifications. I don't really see the point. RSS was kind of usefull.
