Thank you Sarah. A beautifully written insight into the pros and cons. I have just signed up to a 24 week, part-time bootcamp. It may be part-time but the suggestion is that, to get the most out of it, I will need to devote up to 20 hours a week to study while working full time.
Similar to you, I need the structure. I may have a little more coding experience but I’m a chronic introvert and I’ll never get anywhere working by myself. I need the social interaction and the opportunity to work in a group.
Your comments around asking questions really struck a chord with me, especially being overwhelmed with questions to the extent that you don’t know which one to start with. I do have a tendency to “overthink”, which can lead to stagnation. I will definitely work on my questioning skills in readiness for my course.
Thanks again for sharing your experiences. Your piece was very enlightening and thought provoking.

Thanks for your kind words and good luck to you as you start boot camp. Part time is what I did too, so I could continue to work full time and while I had to sacrifice my social life a bit, it was very doable!
I am also an introvert in person so I relate there. I often got in my head, when in reality I'm sure others had the same questions I did. Easier said than done though!
