Is MongoDB Still Relevant?

twitter logo Updated on ・1 min read

A while back I fell in love with DocumentDB and more specifically MongoDB.

I think it had to do with how closely it's data structure matched what I was already comfortable working within RESTful APIs. The idea of storing the JSON I just got from my endpoint into a collection just made sense.

After developing a strong affinity for MongoDB I found other alternatives to NoSQL that each had their strengths (i.e Graph's relationships). Looking back I'm not sure if I would have had made a different decision in my preference of MongoDB, but I'm curious what your thoughts are.

What was it that drove you to use DocumentDB or MongoDB? Do you still use it today? Why or Why Not?

Thanks!
