The people who want to "keep politics out of FOSS" annoy me more than almost anyone else who isn't actually a troll, for two reasons:

  1. It's always been economic/political. It was a political move when RMS started the Free Software movement, and it was a political move when Mozilla started the Open Source movement.

  2. Politics is the field of study on coordinating large groups of people. Trying to avoid politics in a massive FOSS project is like trying to keep engineering out of manufacturing.

Keeping politics out of Linux is not an option. Deal with it.
