I was asked what must change, so things stay the same

Recently I was asked what must change, so things stay the same.

We live in such dynamic changing environment, it is increasingly hard to keep up. Everyone is scared.

10 years ago, I was happy the tech is moving so quick. This let me advance in new technologies faster than more experienced developers.

Today I observe young developers building up hype for new features as React Hooks and other useless pieces of software to become relevant and build competitive advantage over veterans.
I often look at those ugly chunks of garbage code and ask their authors about them. They explain it must be like this because they've used some new, cool technology.

I wonder what's wrong with our tech education, but certainly it's broken since we constantly rewrite systems to new technologies hoping they will fill lack in our craft.

It's endless revolution over evolution. We are using hundreds of open sourced packages not seeing their code even once. Or we tried and haven't understood.
So we are scared we don't get them because we are not good enough and give up.
While most of them, even the most popular ones, are piles of garbage and this is the real reason why it is so hard to understand them.

I was asked what must change, so things stay the same.

I think we need more emotional intelligence and mental toughness.
To recognize our fears.
To gain the control over the world we help to shape, back to us.
To try understanding things before we rebuild them making a set of different mistakes.

As long as you participate in this rat race, you will run in the direction set by someone else.
Without finishing line nor time to rest.

I was asked what must change, so things stay the same.

I think we must change.
To become inherently stronger, not only smarter.
