Qdrant is considered the best Open Source option as it's beyond a Vector Database. Technically speaking, the founder of Qdrant doesn't like calling it as a Vector Database, However the marketing folks call it. The unique thing about Qdrant is, it's a Vector Search Engine. One could do a Vector Search, Filtering, Recommendations etc. with ease.
Qdrant do support multiple cloud deployments via Qdrant Cloud is a SaaS (software-as-a-service) solution.
Great to know. Looks like most of these vector databases doesn’t like to call themselves as vector databases because most of them know that it is all because of the hype. The one that prevails in the long run is basically a generic DB that suppors everything and not just vectors.
