Could be something on the signup phase where it asks what kind of experience you have (Newbie, student, junior etc) then suggest some tags for the user to follow and some threads to read to start off with?
And then that choice when signing up can set their "experience level" at dev.to/settings/misc from the get go. Although, I'm still not really sure what the 1-10 represents whether 1 is literally no coding idea at all, or a student learning for about a year like me. Someones level 5 experience may be totally different from my view of level 5 experience haha
