I am an aspiring software developer/game programmer and consider myself new to coding. I started building my portfolio yesterday. I added my Pure CSS Cat (it got picked on Codepen and displayed on Popular Pins on Twitter, so that was an obvious choice for me), then I added Anita's Sticker Album (CSS stickers I have made), and then I added my Your Age in Dog Years calculator. I will put other things in their place when I had made more impressive things.
Now, when it comes to building my portfolio, I was first thinking about showing off what I have learned so far (and are capable of reproducing). But after a comment to my portfolio question on Sololearn, I am now thinking that I should not do that. Instead, I should tailor my portfolio so I can land myself a software/game programming job which means that I need to make some software and games to show off (instead of CSS and JS stuff) which actually makes perfectly sense while thinking about it!
This is how my portfolio site currently looks like: http://anitaolsen.devport.co
