Hello friends! I'm excited to share my thoughts in honor of International Women's Day within the DEV Community. 2020 has been a wild ride for me, but I'm happy to say that I've managed to learn more front-end skills as well as hone in on my testing skills. It has been one year since I joined the DEV Community platform and have met so many wonderful developers.

My most recent achievement was…

After months of being unemployed last year during the pandemic, I'm happy to say that I got a job as a Senior Support Engineer where I can utilize my web design and software testing skills when troubleshooting Shopify stores, along with shops that created Headless Commerce websites.

Advocating for myself looks like…

  • Knowing when to pick and choose my own battles.
  • Accepting that it's okay not to know everything.
  • Relying on my team who encourages me to do better.
  • To do things afraid and take on more challenges.

My biggest goal is…

To become a QA Engineer. I care about the product and ensuring that all features are tested. I enjoy finding bugs and collaborating with the developers and product teams in providing my feedback on how our product can be improved.

My advice for allies to support underrepresented folks who code is...

Actions speak louder than words. If you're an ally, show the work. Do not say that you're an ally when you haven't provided the receipts on doing so in helping underrepresented folks. Allow us to have our space.
