Great advice here Greg, thank you!

The part about calm doing wonders especially - when I take the time for some informal conversation upfront it definitely changes the energy and helps turn the interview into a fruitful conversation.

I've experienced the same in reverse as well, where I was being interviewed by someone with little interview experience, or they were fairly new to interviewing. With some informal conversation upfront, some ice-breakers, or asking about something that interested the interviewer I was able to create a sense of calm - which made it much easier on myself as the interviewee.

Hi Ricardo - great to meet you. Yes this is true, when you run into an interviewer who isn't quite sure what they need to do, it's an interesting dynamic when the interview takes control of the interview - thanks for the feedback.
