These days a web developer I'm not interested in using anything bloated or/and unreliable, including:

  • popular technology stacks for web application development: from JavaScript frameworks to traditional RDBMS.
  • most of containerization solutions, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes
  • anything with "cloud" or "serverless" in it: AWS, Google Cloud/Firebase, Azure, Netlify, Heroku, ZEIT, etc.
  • popular operating systems: GNU/Linux and MS Windows.

I still can read the source and explore everything to discover good patterns and ideas.


Now I'm interested in simple tools:

OpenBSD, POSIX shell, tmux, vi, vanilla JavaScript, CSS, HTML, CGI, static web sites, well designed programming languages, etc.
