I wake a half-hour before my family so I'm not grumpy when the chaos starts!
9am and I'm at the school gates, then on to the train station to be at my desk a half-hour or so later. Brew, calendar, emails, something, stand-up. We're at 10:30 by now, ready for the day!
My calendar generally dictates my working hours, but lunch and coffee will end around 2pm. Some days are full of coding (with the junior I'm mentoring/pairing or others in my team), others waiting that awkward ten minutes for my next meeting -- but that's what I do to keep my team coding, as they like!
I squeeze in a bit of quieter thinking time until 18:30, as some others have worked earlier hours so the office is calmer. My kids watch my face go along the railway line on Google Maps, as I commute home to do their bath and bedtime.
I'm lucky that I don't have to do on-call or take my work home with me.
