Between 33:45 and 36:35 of this Q/A session, Yuval Noah Harari (bestselling author of 'Sapiens') shares some wisdom for self-taught learners. Please listen to his response(or the entire video if you have time), think about it and comment below with your ideas/experiences.
Self taught CS learners are flooded with information like courses, tutorials, etc. They don't have a clear picture of the industry and can't tell the difference between what's important and what's not. As Yuval says, they need a map or the tools to construct such a map. How can you help with that ?
I think startups/organisations in the online education market should focus on providing mentorships, guidance and an environment for students to engage, not just coding exercises.
