I have just about ~2 years of experience with Gitlab CE...it's absolutely amazing, and obviously, like many many other applications - it's limited mainly by the amount of compute power you give it - more juice -> faster server.
I remember asking the IT department to upgrade it and they gave it 10 cores and 32GB of RAM 🙄
It's blazing fast compared to almost any web based repo I know and work with.
Gitlab's CI/CD is nothing short of incredible.
As a developer, having a one stop shop you actually like can genuinely make you more productive.
You can spin that $h*t on a container on your laptop!
