Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket are all web interfaces for git.
Bitbucket also supports Mercurial (which is why I use it).
That said: thank you a lot for this article. I never managed to get Fossil running, so I got into Darcs for my personal projects instead. It brings me hope to see that there are still people who know the difference between "a VCS" and git. :-)
