It's strange how different stories are and yet similar. The one similarity is that it shouldn't be this way! You shouldn't be required to pay to get a job, you shouldn't be put on emails or modeling as a developer, you shouldn't be underpaid and most importantly you shouldn't choose to be a only a designer just so that people would feel better about themselves. Do it all, girl! Burst their bubbles! Show them how it is supposed to be. 😎
