Can you tell a bit about the needed Ressources for an own AI? Is it - from budget perspective - better to use existing services or do self-hosting?

Depends on the usage but generally speaking I think self-hosting would be cheaper - but a little more effort.
Does those self hosted "own AI" need much amount of ressources?
Depends on the traffic it gets but a standard EC2 or DigitalOcean server should be enough - so I think it doesn't need much resources. I'd recommend to start with a small server and scale up if it gets too slow
