HP has acquired Humane’s assets for $116 million, officially shutting down the AI Pin just 10 months after its launch. Initially hyped as a smartphone alternative, the AI-powered wearable failed to gain traction due to poor user experience, high return rates, and safety concerns. Humane had raised over $230 million but struggled to deliver a viable product. As part of the acquisition, HP is integrating Humane’s team and AI technology into its new division, HP IQ, to develop AI-driven innovations. Customers who purchased the AI Pin recently may receive refunds, but all devices will stop working by February 28, 2025.
