What's up guys!?

Everyone has experienced many stories in his Developer career, really everyone! I want to hear your stories, whether inspiring, motivating, beautiful or even frightening or sad.

For example, how you came to programming, how successful or unsuccessful a big project was, and, and, and!

Let's share your story in the comments below!πŸ˜‡

I was/am studying library and information science and last year I got my 6-month internship (which was required for getting my degree).

It had to do with records management and I worked at a warehouse. My duties included unstapling, scanning and assigning names to phone contracts of a large telecom company.

I got so tired of doing the same repetitive stuff everyday. Meanwhile, I had already begun studying web development on my own.

Due to feeling that I was wasting my time/skills doing repetitive stuff I "swore" that I would not do this kind of work again after these six months.

So after the internship I went all in in my web development studies at home and managed to get a 3 month training in a tech company which ended up hiring me after the three months.

Dunno if I will ever get my degree though. πŸ˜…

  • worked in IT Security (not an engineering job)
  • had 2 kids
  • studied & started a fitness instructor side career
  • went on to do fitness full-time
  • when expecting 3rd baby, I realised I need a more solid base
  • started to learn webdesign & little code
  • realized it is CODE that really interests me, not design, so learned more & more...
  • only had (and still only have) time to learn when kids are in bed in the nights... 😴
  • while having received stellar reviews during the year, I got fired from my first dev job exactly on my 1-year work anniversary. 😒 This completely threw me off for a while 😒 even though I knew that they had not been on the bleeding edge of today's frontend technology
  • 6 weeks after having been fired, I started at another company. Being at the right place now, learning a lot, sometimes struggling a lot, but still HAPPY with my new choice. ❀️❀️❀️

I wanted to make a game at 8

So, I learned processing.
Then I learned p5js with daniel Shiffman
And I learned node js and async/ await notion by making a discord bot

Yes, it ain't that long but less code text==more quality

Got into programming because of AOL Proggies. Anyone in their mid 30's and 40's will understand. =)
