discipline is king. keeping to schedule is more important than the time of day. However the closer you are able to wake up with the sun, the more optimum amount of vitamin D you can absorb and over the long run this === to just a little bit more energy. and if it makes me a little bit better. then i will do it. That is discipline. If getting up a little bit before my competition makes me better, then i do it. If making sure i don't overwork and take a day off a week makes me better then i will do it. Even if it doesn't seem like it does, but my commit heuristics say it does. I trust the data. Anyways what we are and where we want to be, are two entirely different things, as i sit here typing this. Still trying to make my way to the bottom of my first cup of java at 1pm, staring at my scripts. Anyways discipline is the way of strength, agility, intelligence, and wisdom. I do not get up early because i like to, as much as i don't like to do dishes. But i find joy in it, as it makes me a better person, and that much more competitive. And in technology, being competitive is most often our only tool in a race to the bottom which we call the software technology industry. Cheers! GL;HC;

I gotta say, as much as I am a night person... I'm also a summer / outdoors person. Kayaking at night would not be a great experience! Although, 20 miles on a bike at night is fine! It's also a blast at sundown for me.

depends on what your kayaking :) At night i'll strap my extra PETZ onto the front and use my blk diamond for my spot light, it's got much better range, and rig for red. Under star light is awesome hiking, and biking.

I love rivers and the ocean. I just can't imagine doing them very safely at night! Although I have debated a few lakes for a lake kayak adventure!

not for a novice but totally the next step in challenging. Night vision is a skill which can be developed believe it or not. When I hiked the PCT last year we did a lot of it at night in order to make our times.
