Many people are complaining about their age, asking themself — if it is too late or too early to start programming? In this article, I will explain a matter of age to the developer. Also, I will provide some learning resources to start learning. As an example, I will take the front-end developer beginner path.

When to start learning programming?

The earliest time to start, from school. At the beginning of Your journey, it is crucial to keep yourself motivated. For absolute beginners, I would recommend starting with HTML and CSS. One of the most user-friendly platforms for absolute beginners to start is W3Schools. The platform will not explain, what CSS and HTML are and explain the main concepts to learn. After You will feel confident with HTML and CSS start learning JS. All these 3 technologies are must-haves for any front-end developer. If You are planning to find work in the future as a front-end developer this article can help to find your first work/internship. In the article, I provided the importance of soft and technical skills. Moreover, added useful resources for beginners and experienced programmers.

When it is too late?

There is never too late to start learning programming. I am talking not only about the front-end developer path. There are developers who made their first steps in programming from being at 30+ years old and after there were able to find work. It is important to put time and effort, improve yourself as a developer and person.

Conclusion

It is never too late. Most depend on You, if there is a family it will be harder to find time to learn. By making step after step, You will reach the goal. For someone, it will take more time, someone less. Most important to put effort and be consistent in Your path.

I started coding when I was 8, but I've seen people who didn't start before in their 40s still being able to become good at it over time ... :)
