What is PoLW and PoW?

The traditional proof-of-work method involves miners solving hashing puzzles using crypto mining hardware such as GPUs, FPGAs or ASICs (mostly used); total mining costs are the sum of equipment and energy costs.

PoLW is a different case. After a certain time, miners will burn some coins in order to convert a fractional cost of external costs into internal network costs by using less energy. Proof of Less Work mining costs are both internal (burning coins within the network), as well as external.

Burning coins costs energy, so this is one way to reduce it without compromising the security of the network or its decentralisation. Burning energy does not. This means that the PoLW cost is the exact same as PoW's cost, but the PoLW network is built differently.
