What are your Favorite Developer Communities?

Part of what makes developers love open source solutions are the communities that revolve around that solution. Some are based on Discord, Slack, forums, or other means of communication.

What is your favorite community to be a part of? And what makes it your favorite?

P.S. 👀: Medusa has a Discord server for the community that welcomes everybody! Join and chat with Medusa's core team and community members learn more about Medusa!

I'm gonna have to say DEV & CodeNewbie... not biased at all. 😂

Also, I must mention the many other Forem communities that I helped fellow community managers to launch: The Ops Community, The Interledger Community, The Julia Community, and more. These communities are around a specific technology or subject matter, but definitely dev-related.

BUT, aside from communities I personally worked on, I also discovered a relatively small, but friendly Discord community called The Mycellium Network which is focused on early-stage web devs and run by @schalkneethling.

DEV and its related communities definitely deserve a shoutout 😂

I also like The Mycelium Network community you mentioned! Definitely would be helpful to new developers

I am biased, of course, but I run a community that is all about learning and features speakers, workshops and conferences at cfe.dev.

Our chat during meetups is pretty active. We also have a Discord, though it's kinda quiet still tbh.

forum.dlang.org/

I've been there since 2006 and the people there are so knowledgeable. I've been able to see what goes into deciding how a language should be built.

Discussions revolve around a common language but other work is brought up for consideration.

It's relaxing to read technical stuff in your mother tongue sometimes 😁

I really like Gitpods community. It is so well run: gitpod.io/community

Biased: Our own little community about everything (test) automation: discord.gg/Gu35zMGxbx
