I've used Yammer in a previous job and I can say I liked it, even though it was mainly a communication channel to share with other colleagues what you are currently learning or think important for others to learn.
Overall, I think there's more to be created in this space, but also has some assumptions:
a very big team - otherwise there won't be content to read
privacy - big companies will probably want to own their inner content
an incentive to share things - even though you have such an app - some people will just not share stuff - it's just how it is - so it's interesting how you could add some gamification to this to provide people a reason to post
