Lab 1

Hello, my name is Anna Elizabeth Tandetnitskiy, and I am a freshman at Pennsylvania State University, University Park. I am majoring in information science and technology. Growing up, I have always been very intrigued by technology, and people always came to me with issues with their phones, laptops, or other electronics. I always keep up with the latest technology, and this is what founded my interest in this major. Even beyond that, I knew that I wanted to do something to help out other people and make a positive impact on society, so this major perfectly embodies both of these aspects.
In high school, I took both a computer programming and web design course, and those classes undoubtedly sparked my interest. So I knew that coming into college, I wanted to further pursue those interests of mine. Also, my father is a computer programmer, and I have watched him work, and I can see that he truly loves what he does, and there are not a lot of people who can genuinely say that about their professions, so that has also really inspired me to pick a similar career path. Over the years, I have observed what he does, and he has also shown me some of what he does, and I have always found it to be very interesting.
Going forward, meaning after undergrad, I aspire to complete the 4+1 program offered at Pennsylvania State University, before joining the workforce in this field, so that I have a fully formed college education in this major. Upon graduation, I hope to find a job that will allow me to continue to do what I am passionate about, while being financially stable, as well as doing something with my career, which allows me to help people or the greater community and or society. Another one of my goals is to be on a team to discover some sort of groundbreaking technology that will be able to help people in some aspects.
Aside from what I previously mentioned about my love for technology, I am really interested in analyzing patterns and trends in how certain data comes to be, and further draw conclusions from the data presented at hand. I personally find that very interesting, and I know that the possibilities with regards to that are endless, and the potential for what can be resulted from that data is always something that will be in demand. There is, and will always be a huge demand for this type of analysis, and I hope to one day, be able to play a role in this market. I know that there is a neverending market in this niche, and I really hope to one day be able to partake in it, and even though I know that at this point in my career, I am very distant from reaching these personal goals of mine, however, nevertheless, I am very excited for what the future has in store for both the technological advances to come, as well as for what I will be able to do with these technological advances.
