Introduction

We’re excited to roll out Bold BI® v13.2.5, an update designed to make your analytics faster, smarter, and more secure across Windows, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure environments. This release introduces smarter AI interactions, improved dashboard design features, stronger data security, and better embedding support—helping you uncover insights with less effort.

AI Highlights

AI widget toggle for flexible visualizations

Unified AI Assistant introduces a Widget Toggle feature that lets users instantly switch between a two visual view of the same data such as grid and chart. This flexibility allows users to consume insights in the format that best fits the moment. Detailed grids are ideal for reporting accuracy, while visual charts are perfect for presentations and decision-making. By giving both options in a single click, Bold BI reduces the need for multiple dashboard setups and saves valuable time.

Visual summarization for faster insights

Unified AI Assistant now provides Visual Summarization, turning raw chart data into plain-language insights. Instead of manually interpreting numbers, users get clear details. This feature reduces the time analysts spend reviewing dashboards. For example, when reviewing quarterly product sales, the AI Assistant can highlight top performers, flag revenue gaps, and even point outgrowth opportunities—all in plain language alongside dynamic visuals. Decision-makers save time and can act with confidence by seeing both the numbers and their meaning, side by side.

Responsive & interactive dialogs

Resizing your dashboard no longer disrupts your workflow. Dialogs now adapt instantly, ensuring panels like summarization stay visible and usable even in smaller layouts. This keeps analysts focused on insights instead of interface issues.

Designer and Server Enhancements

Support for defaulting to latest date in date picker

We’ve added a new Select Latest Date as Default option in the Date Picker widget. With this enhancement, dashboards can now automatically highlight the most recent date when the dashboard parameter is configured. This ensures users always see the latest data without needing to adjust filters manually—saving time and providing up-to-date insights instantly.

Improved date picker functionality

We’ve enhanced the Date Picker functionality to make your dashboard interactions smoother and more intuitive. When a dashboard parameter is configured, the Date Picker now highlights available dates, making it easier to identify valid selections at a glance. This improvement significantly boosts visibility and enables quicker, more confident date selection, helping you save time and reduce errors.

Enhanced dashboard rendering during widget linking

We have improved the linking functionality to support rendering linked dashboards using the same instance as the parent dashboard. This enhancement ensures consistent context and state retention when navigating between widgets and their associated dashboards. It eliminates repetitive filtering, speeding up multi-level analysis.

RTL layout support for multi-tab dashboards

Added configuration-based support for right-to-left (RTL) layout in multi-tab dashboards. This enhancement improves accessibility and localization for RTL language users by aligning tab navigation and content flow accordingly. It makes Bold BI more inclusive and user-friendly across different languages.

Other Minor Fixes

Alongside the major enhancements, Bold BI 13.2 also introduces several additional updates:

  • Deployment: We have resolved a caller URL mismatch in the Unified AI Assistant Docker setup. This update helps protect users from unauthorized access when interacting with the assistant in containerized environments.
  • Security: Now, only admin users can access the Add User dialog, even if its URL is entered manually. This change addresses a previous issue where non-admin users could bypass access restrictions, reinforcing role-based security and preventing unauthorized access to administrative features.
  • User Interface: We have fixed the accuracy of AI-generated responses that rely on filters. This improvement helps users get clearer insights and reduces confusion caused by irrelevant suggestions.
  • Performance: We have improved caching in Designer by resolving issues related to Azure Redis integration. This enhancement allows users working with large datasets or complex dashboards to enjoy faster load times and smoother performance during design and analysis.
