I was really interested about this early in my career. Use my programming skills to do good. I followed the FreeCodeCamp curriculum for this purpose. Being able to help non-profit organisations with code. I didn't have a chance to do that, but I heard Quincy Larson ( founder of FreeCodeCamp) say that they would never run out of non-profit to help.
The "downside" is that you have to complete the entire curriculum to be eligible for this. But this is a great community.
