For my first post on dev.to, I will do a review of my 2019. Granted there is still about a week and a half until the new year.
Speaking
This year was a banner year for me as a speaker. In total I conducted 4 workshops and 17 sessions at 10 conferences.
- PyTennessee - February
- CodeStock - April
- Indy.Code() - April
- DotNetSouth - May
- KCDC - July
- Codepalousa - August
- Music City Tech - September
- Scenic City Summit - October
- DevSpace - October
- Connect.Tech - October
I was published for the third time on Pluralsight with my course Matplotlib for Data Visualization and Python: Getting Started. And I published my first written guide on Pluralsight Machine Learning Concepts with Python and scikit-learn. And I also published a course on SkillShare Flask: What's in it For You. One goal for next year is to really learn how to use the Adobe Creative Cloud tools effectively. I'm still using Camtasia right now and the results are decent, but I want to start using the professional tools.
Locally, I continued to be active as co-director of the Memphis Python User Group and speaking at both the Memphis .NET User Group and the Memphis PASS Group. I also helped start the Memphis Xamarin User Group and the Memphis Power Platform User Group.
I also tried my hand at streaming on Twitch for the first time. This is something that I will expand on in 2020. Also in 2020 I am going to put more emphasis on YouTube. Finally, I need to be more active on social media next year: Twitter, Instagram and Github.
I'll still continue to mainly work on Python and C# and focus on both machine learning and mobile applications.
