I have, everyone has. So push through, I know you have it in you. You are an amazing asset for the coding and open source community, you just need to believe in yourself. And as far as the BSD is concerned, it has its own ups and downs, we all have been there, thinking if we should just drop and it is not for us, you are not alone in thinking that.
