As to Robert Martin...one should not read his work directly until they have enough experience to discern between the good ideas and the terrible ideas in his books. Martin can't discern between the two (for him, everything he thinks is genius), and some of his assertions are very misleading for younger developers. There are plenty of better books for teaching those concepts, if you do a bit of digging.
