Be Blunt at the Beginning — Or Watch Your Culture Rot

At DoozieSoft, we’ve always believed in giving people a fair chance. But here’s the hard truth — if you don’t set the tone early, you end up paying the price silently later. And it’s not just about one person watching anime during work hours. It’s about the ripple effect that one unchecked behavior creates.

The Slippery Slope of Silence

The first time you let it go — someone slacking off, misusing office time, or disrespecting expectations — you’re not being kind.
You’re being weak.
You’re setting a precedent.

Soon, others start thinking:

“Oh, no one said anything to him, so maybe it’s okay…”

And before you know it, the culture you once envisioned — one of accountability, ownership, drive — is replaced by one of excuses, mediocrity, and entitlement.

Blunt ≠ Rude

Being blunt doesn’t mean being rude or disrespectful.
It means being clear.
It means stating what’s acceptable and what’s not — right at the start.

Think of it as setting the ground rules in a team sport. No one enjoys a game where one player is doing their own thing while the rest are trying to win.

What We’re Doing at DoozieSoft

We’ve decided to draw the line sharply.

  • Interns are here to learn. Not to chill.
  • Time is a resource. Misuse it, and you're out.
  • Culture is sacred. One bad apple will be removed.

This isn’t cruelty. It’s clarity.
It’s us choosing long-term health over short-term comfort.

The Bigger Picture

If you’re a leader — CTO, founder, team lead, manager — remember this:

You teach people how to treat your culture by what you tolerate.

So stop tolerating.
Speak up.
Be blunt.

Before it’s too late.
