When I was building my first computer I found the build a pc subreddit helpful for tutorials and general advice, PCPartPicker helpful for picking and choosing compatible parts, and Youtube helpful for actually watching someone put together the case/motherboard/CPU/cooler I selected.

Thanks! Will definitely look into all these. Didn't think about Youtube being a resource but now that I think about it, it's obvious that there would be videos on stuff like this.
