I literally just ran into this with a series I am just doing. Im going to work the initial failure and refactoring into the series, but from now on I'm not publishing any part of a series until I've completed all entries.
I don't write everything in advance. I just try to have a theme idea, and if it's something I know I can write a lot about, it's not too hard for me to plan on the go. The most planning I ever really do is maybe lay out the topic for each week.
