Thanks for writing this. I would say it is important to follow other programmers because, sometimes, they show you things you can never learn. A guy I worked with"G" wrote highly concise and expressive code. Others have extreme tenacity. Others are psychopaths who write buckets of code who don't care about other developers understanding it.
