I've been through a lot of technical interviews that ask me to solve complex binary trees or some complex math exercise in code within less than an hour, but on a daily basis, the job is to make CRUD forms.
There seems to be a change at least in my area in shifting away from this approach. But it still exists and it's incredibly harmful on many different fronts.
