Quick question for the community ๐
How much do you think social networks actually contribute to SEO today?
Which platforms are you actively using?
Do you spread content everywhere โ or focus on 1โ2 networks only?
In your experience, what really moves the needle?
Recently, John Mueller confirmed that Google is planning to surface personal & social profile data inside Google Search Console.
That alone strongly suggests something important:
๐ Google is no longer treating social presence as โnoiseโ โ but as part of the broader authority picture.
Whatโs still unclear:
Which platforms will be included?
Which ones Google actually trusts?
Based on 17 years in SEO, my personal hypothesis is that Google will prioritize platforms with:
strong identity validation
stable crawling behavior
clear ownership signals
Most likely candidates (in my opinion):
X (Twitter)
Why?
Because when I publish on these platforms, Google discovers and crawls related content significantly faster than on others.
This isnโt about rankings yet โ itโs about discovery, entity validation, and authority flow.
Curious to hear your thoughts ๐
What are you seeing work โ and where are you focusing heading into 2026?
