I know what you mean. I've been in the past in one of those big Coworking spots, they're great and it's hard to connect with people. But that was long long ago.

Now I'm living in a very small city in the south of Spain. There isn't here anything like WeWork, but 3 years ago discovered a small coworking and it's been great. Only around 20 people at max capacity. It's a lot easier to connect, the place is very small and it's pretty common that you cross someone going to the coffee machine and have a little talk. We also have something we call "Friday cakes". Every Friday someone from the coworking must bring a hand-made cake (some people cheat, well, pretty much everyone).

I've made few friends and a good client (who also is now a friend). If you check the instagram pictures, you will see that the place is not fancy but the people there it's great. Also another good thing, around 70% of the people there are from around the world, Italy, England, North America, South America...

I understand 100% what you say about feeling isolated. I've experienced it myself too many times. It took me some time to realize that I needed to find a place with likeminded people, and I guess I was lucky.

Wish you luck in your search!
