Your number 1 point resonates with me. As someone who tends to stay out of the spotlight, the thought of stepping out and increasing my visibility is nerve-wracking. I know it is necessary to get ahead in this career but that doesn’t make it any less anxiety-inducing. I have been taking steps to overcome this; that is part of why I joined this forum. I expect that, over time, this will become easier and more natural. Thanks for a great article.

You don't need to do all the things I said! If doing it all feels too overwhelming at first focus on just making your LinkedIn reflect what you're doing/studying and what you're interested in. Then focus on the GitHub one. For these two you don't need to necessarily interact with other people but are good ways of helping people to find you! And when you feel less anxious go look for other places/people! One step at time! You're doing great! Thank you a lot for your comment and for gathering the courage to share! If I can help with anything, reach out!
