A few months ago I was deep in SAA-C03 prep and frustrated. Every practice tool I found was either bloated, paywalled from the start, or just multiple-choice banks with no real context.
So I built my own — and then kept going until it was actually good.
What I built
AWSPrepAI (https://awsprepai.netlify.app) is a focused SAA-C03 practice platform with:
- 533 exam-style questions across all 4 domains (Design Resilient Architectures, High Performing Architectures, Secure Applications, Cost-Optimized Architectures)
- A full 65-question mock exam with a 130-minute timer — same format as the real thing
- Visual architecture scenarios that test how well you understand AWS service interactions
- Keyword hints to help you think through answers, not just memorize them
- Zero signup required for the free tier — you just open it and start
Why free first?
Most platforms gate everything behind a paywall. You can't even try before you buy. I wanted the opposite: let people actually use it, get value, and decide if premium is worth it.
The free tier gives access to 5 questions per domain. Premium unlocks everything for $10/month, $59/year, or $99 lifetime.
What I learned building it
The hardest part wasn't the questions — it was the mock exam timer and making sure the visual architecture scenarios actually made sense without being confusing. I went through probably 6 iterations of the UI before it felt right.
I also learned that building for yourself is the best way to build something people actually want. Every feature exists because I personally needed it while studying.
