I'm a Swedish "developer". I choose to put that within quotes as I work a whole lot with the ops part of the job. Not that I don't get to write any code anymore, but I feel that in my current position, I learn more from the operations than from the code I write.
I'm involved in two businesses, one (Jitesoft) which I am owner and only employee of, and another (KRIG Collective) in which I am CTO and have the main responsibility over most of the dev's and op's.
I started playing around with code back in the early nineties, this mainly due to my father working with computers and stuff, but it was first in my teens that I started to create stuff for real (webpages and smaller games). I always aimed for the game-dev life, which I actually succeeded in after 6 or so years of studies at different schools.
After a couple of years as a game developer, the company I worked for went bankrupt (no, not due to me, hehe), and I started to work with consulting jobs and web + handheld development. five or six years later I hit a wall and after recovery I started my own business.
I'm quite happy with my position and I hope that I can be of use on this site in some way ;)
