Installing ProxyCap

  • Port: 823
  • Username: Your DataImpulse username
  • Password: Your DataImpulse password
  1. Click OK to save the proxy.

Testing the Proxy Connection

Before routing traffic, it’s important to verify that the proxy works properly:

  1. Select the added proxy server from the list.
  2. Click Check Proxy Server.
  3. In the test window, enter a URL such as google.com (default).
  4. Click Check Now and wait for the result.

If you see SUCCEEDED, your proxy is ready to use. If the test FAILED, double-check your proxy settings (hostname, port, or credentials).

Configuring Traffic Routing Rules

ProxyCap uses rules to determine which traffic to send through proxies.

  1. Go to the Rules tab.
  2. Click Quick Add Rule to create a new rule.
  3. Set the Rule Action to Redirect through proxy.
  4. Select your previously added proxy server from the Proxy dropdown menu.
  5. Enable Resolve names remotely to ensure DNS queries go through the proxy, reducing leakage risks.
  6. Check the box for the TCP protocol (most internet traffic uses TCP).
  7. Click OK to save the rule.
