I took a look at ReasonReact and it looks pretty close to what I had in mind. I'm thinking of creating a compiler that compiles JSX to a data representation so any renderer can use it. Basically break the connection between JSX and React.
One of the things I'm going to focus on first is the syntax. With what I have in mind for writing components I think I'll end up further away from standard javascript or typescript then I want to be. So I want to work through that and make sure it makes sense.
