I didn't go with VuePress because I specifically wanted experience with Nuxt...nothing technically inferior about VuePress. I plan on building a PWA with Nuxt in the future. But with VuePress being such a sharp tool (so far, anyway) it's actually perfect for a static blog too. It even supports front matter and Markdown support out of the box, which is great, especially for writing.
