What is Aleo?

Aleo is an scalable layer-1 blockchain that is used by Zero Knowledge Proof, enabling secure and private transactions on the blockchain.

To allow designers to offer their customers with personalised experiences and security It also includes smart contracts that can be programmed and also zero-knowledge cryptography.

In Aleo's design, applications are not executed on chain Instead, users execute the program off-chain, and then post Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Arguments of Knowledge (zkSNARKs) to the chain, verifying that the program's execution is accurate with a method that is secure for privacy.

In the end, regardless of application's running time the chain validates these short evidences.
