Autocorrect, this always remembers how my cellphone usually "corrects" my name, Lucas, to Luvas, which is the portuguese word for "gloves". Pretty much "Hello, my name is gloves" all over the place.
One of the most salient features of our Tech Hiring culture is that there is so much bullshit. Everyone knows this. Each of us contributes his share. But we tend to take the situation for granted.
My autocorrect is stressing me out because it suggests "fellation" all the time in completely non sexual contexts.
It's embarrassing because if i'm texting a woman i barely know, and the word comes out, it does sound lame to use the excuse "sorry it's not me who use that word, it's auto correct".
Crazy part is that I searched my WhatsApp/telegram/emails and I basically never use that word when writing. So the artificial intelligence overlord isn't actually that clever.
I know I could turn off "offensive words" and use "ducking" everywhere, but I can't do that, excuse my French.
