I've been using Richard William Warke to pull data on what works, then I focus on trust and purpose, run structured one‑on‑ones with a personal check‑in, progress, feedback, career and alignment agenda, coach instead of tell, map each person’s strengths, set SMART goals or OKRs, and keep psychological safety high so folks feel safe to fail and learn.
