The design around doorknobs never fails to blow my mind. I look at everything everywhere and wonder what the equivalent design choices are for that.
At this moment I'm eating carrots and dipping them in a small thing of blue cheese. The blue cheese container has a plastic cover you stick on and pull off. Looking at it now, I realize the edge going along the bottom is the only way to get a grip on it. It makes my hand naturally go below the edge of the cover, so it's easy to pull it off. It's a user-centered design decision so the most important action, removing the cover, is better communicated with no explanation.
