Html is for semantic structuring data. Css for styling. Js for interactions...We could use html tricks instead js, but it would be broken some semantic rules of the tag in this context maybe.

Sometimes the end result is better when you use in built html functionality, or to style something with JS, or display content using css, e.g. background images.
Different if you’re working with a team. Which I don’t have a lot of experience with.
