Why a Scrappy Image Fix in March 2025 Changed How I Edit Photos Forever


I was mid-crunch on March 3, 2025, preparing assets for v2.1 of our mobile store when a client sent a 1200-image set with watermarks, tiny thumbnails, and a couple of photobombs. I had Python 3.10.12, Pillow 9.4.0, and a half-baked shell script that felt like duct tape.
