Thanks for the interesting post! I think, in addition to the pricing model, it's also crucial for young projects to get some paying customers soon enough after the launch. The more it takes to acquire users, the higher chances are that you abandon the project. My product, JustComments, had a pricing model from the first day and I think that the pricing model is one of the most important aspects of the whole product. Currently, I am still validating the pricing and figuring out how to acquire paying customers. So the time will show!
